Spark is fully compatible with iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. Siri can now see and act on what's open in Spark; your Spark calendar is available to Siri, Spotlight, and Shortcuts, and the app layout adapts to the new range of screen sizes.
Prerequisites
Here’s what you need to use Siri onscreen awareness in Spark:
- iPhone 15 Pro or later, or an iPad with an M-series chip
- iOS 27 or iPadOS 27 or later
- Apple Intelligence turned on and set up, in a supported region and language
- The latest version of Spark from the App Store
The calendar integration with Siri, Spotlight, and Shortcuts, as well as the adaptive layout, are available on every device that runs iOS 27 or iPadOS 27; Apple Intelligence is not required for them.
Turn on Siri access for Spark
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Go to Apps > Spark.
- Tap Apple Intelligence & Siri and enable access for Spark.
Siri onscreen awareness
On iOS 27, Siri can read the context from the app itself, so you can refer to things on your screen instead of naming them. You can learn more about the Siri AI release and its supported languages here.
Siri can see and act on:
- the message you have open in the Mail Viewer
- a row you can see in the inbox list
- a draft in the Drafts folder
Ask Siri to summarize the thread you're looking at and get the key points without scrolling. For example:
- “Catch me up on this email”
- “What is this thread asking me to do?”
- "Who's included in this conversation?"
Archive, delete, mark as read, pin, or flag as junk either the message you're reading or a row visible in the inbox list. For example:
- “Mark this as read”
- “Pin the message from the accountant”
- “Send this one to junk”
Dictate a reply, a reply-all, or a forward in your own words. Spark sends it from the correct account, to the correct message. For example:
- “Reply that the numbers look good to me”
- “Answer everyone and say I'll join ten minutes late”
- "Forward this to Anna"
Manage your calendar without opening Spark
Spark's calendar events are now exposed to Siri, Spotlight, and Shortcuts. You can create, update, and delete events without opening the app.
Examples of what you can say:
- "Set up a project sync with Andrew on Wednesday at 10 AM" — the event is created in Spark Calendar, and invites are sent
- “Push my afternoon interview back by half an hour”
- "Remove the dentist appointment from Thursday".
You can also build Shortcuts around these actions to automate recurring scheduling tasks, so your calendar keeps working in the background.
A layout that fits every screen
iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 introduce a wider range of window sizes and proportions, including free window resizing for iPhone Mirroring on Mac: you can drag a window to different sizes and aspect ratios instead of being locked to fixed proportions.
Spark's layout now adapts to whatever size or shape you resize the window to, with no cramped or wasted space, so the app looks and works right at any size.
