How AI Assistant can help
1. Retrieve info instantly
Search and extract information
AI Assistant is deeply integrated into Spark — it works across your emails, attachments, calendar, and meeting notes to find exactly what you need. Instead of remembering specific keywords or building a query, you can simply ask for what you’re looking for using natural language. Responses are always accompanied by a link, so you can see the sources your assistant is referencing.
2. Summarize, synthesize, and clarify
Break down complex or unclear messages
AI Assistant is context-aware — it can understand the intent behind your questions to provide sophisticated responses. Get insight into key terms, status updates, and priority to-dos, so you can spend your time doing what matters most.
3. Write better, faster
Draft, revise, and translate emails
AI Assistant keeps projects moving forward, with writing guidance that helps you craft professional-quality follow-ups. It can draft and rephrase emails, proofread your writing for grammar and clarity, and even translate messages. Plus, it learns your preferences so that messages still sound uniquely you.
4. Manage your calendar
Keep track of your schedule and create events
AI Assistant helps manage your week — view your top priorities, see when your colleagues are free, and schedule meetings and to-dos without the manual effort.
5. Stay on top of your inbox
Get help sending, organizing, and cleaning up emails
AI Assistant works with you to keep your inbox tidy. In addition to drafting and sending emails, you can take other actions in your inbox, like archiving and deleting emails from select senders.

FAQ
How does the AI Assistant work?
Once you enable the AI Assistant, Spark creates a private, local index of your emails and meeting notes - all stored only on your device (Spark doesn’t have access to it). When you ask the AI Assistant a question, it searches the local data to find the most relevant information. Then, to generate a helpful response, Spark securely sends a prompt and a small number of related emails to our trusted AI provider. This means only a few emails directly related to your query are accessed and processed with the help of the AI provider - not your entire inbox. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is handled and protected.
Where is my email data processed?
Your emails and a history of your requests and answers are processed locally on your device. Only the emails most related to your query are processed with the help of our trusted AI provider to generate a response. These emails are stored up to 30 days on the AI provider’s servers for abuse and misuse monitoring purposes and are automatically deleted after that. They are not stored on Spark's servers. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.
What information is sent to the AI provider?
Only a few specific emails related to your query - and the query itself - are securely sent to our trusted AI provider. Emails unrelated to your queries are not shared.
