A cache is a temporary storage layer that holds copies of data or resources so they can be accessed more quickly than if retrieved from their original source each time.
Understanding Email Storage in Spark
- Server-Based Storage: All emails you send and receive remain on your email provider’s server (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.).
- No Local Backups: Spark does not back up emails locally; it simply provides IMAP access to your server-hosted mail.
- Offline Caching: When connected to Wi-Fi, Spark automatically caches emails and attachments from the past month so you can read them offline. These cached items aren’t stored as separate files—you cannot move, copy, or open them outside the app when you’re disconnected.
Currently, Spark doesn’t offer a built-in cache-clearing option on macOS. Alternatively, use Spark’s Clean Install instructions or reinstall the app.
