The Spark Desktop 3.27.5 update introduces significant design, functionality, and productivity enhancements based on user feedback - now the app is even more intuitive and user-friendly.
Updated Design Elements
The interface now follows iOS styling more closely, with updated inbox toggles and consistent visual behavior across devices. Priority emails are always displayed as cards in all views, highlighting their importance. Switching between Split View and Full View was also updated to match the new layout logic. Overall, the redesign makes Spark easier to navigate, more predictable to use, and visually consistent across platforms.
- Improved visibility for multiple accounts: when you select an email account (instead of Unified Inbox), the account name is now clearly shown at the top, so it’s easier to see which inbox you’re viewing
- Customizable email preview lines: you can now choose how many preview lines appear in the mail list in Split View, or hide them completely in Spark Settings > Appearance
- Flexible avatar display: gain more control over your visual interface preferences by disabling avatar previews entirely or enabling them for mail viewer only, or mail list only
- Easier sidebar access in compact mode: just click the empty space in the compact sidebar to open the full sidebar instantly
Enhanced Functionality
A number of brand new additions to Spark have been made, as well as some improvements for the existing functionality, aimed to bring you a clear, smooth experience on desktop.
- Check New Email button: manually refresh your inbox anytime using the new button at the top of the sidebar

- Recently Seen folder: quickly access your last 10 opened emails per account; it works like browser history for your inbox. For your convenience, it can be pinned to the top or removed from the sidebar
- Clear recent search queries: hover over a recent search and click “X” to remove it and keep your search list clean
- Smarter account sorting in Unread Cards: unread emails now follow the same account order as your sidebar settings
- New/extended Print options: you can now print individual emails or the entire thread, and choose whether to include history and comments
Productivity Improvements
Spark has enhanced productivity and calendar tools to add more flexibility to your workflows.
- Improved “Meet with” tool: paste a list of email addresses, and Spark will suggest available meeting times automatically
- Email Meeting Notes: share meeting notes with attendees using a dedicated button or Command Center
- Updated Priority Card behavior in Unread Cards inbox: see both read and unread messages in your Priority Card. Other Smart Inbox cards (People, Notifications, Newsletters) follow a different rule: they contain only unread emails. As soon as you read them, they disappear from their original card and move to the Seen card. In other words, for Priority, we made it so that when you read a Priority email, it stays in the Priority card instead of being moved to Seen
- Custom time input for Snooze, Send Later & Reminders: enter any time to extend the existing presets
