In Spark, emails are grouped in threads based on the email subject. Spark displays the latest emails at the bottom of the thread, and the oldest messages are located at the top. The thread view is one of the essential functionalities of the app. Spark’s unique features like shared threads and private team comments under the emails are based on the thread view.
Is it possible to disable threads?
No, there currently isn't an option to turn off the threads in Spark. We’re not planning to add the option to disable or change the emails' order in the threads in Spark for now. However, if your workflow relies on individual emails rather than threads, please share your feedback with us by submitting a feature request.
How to mute a thread
Keep getting notifications from a thread you don't need? Whether it is a long email chain where someone forgot to remove you from cc or bcc or a conversation that lost relevance for you, there is an easy way to stop receiving notifications about this thread in the inbox - you can mute the thread. New replies just won’t appear in your inbox, the thread itself will be removed from the inbox as well, keeping it nice and neat, with no distracting, non-relevant emails.
To mute a thread, follow the steps below:
- Open Spark on your mobile device.
- Open the thread you want to mute.
- Tap the Mute (Crossed bell) icon. Upon activating all new emails of the specific thread won't show up in the inbox and the thread itself will be removed from the inbox as well.
To unmute the email thread, click the icon again. After you unmute, all new emails in that thread will get back to your inbox.
