The Gatekeeper feature puts you in control of who’s allowed to email you - and who isn’t. The first time someone emails you, you get to decide if you want to get emails from them again: you can either accept the new sender or decline them. The senders are not notified if you block them in Gatekeeper.
Access the Gatekeeper settings
Open Spark Desktop and use the ⌘, shortcut (press and hold ⌘ and press , ). Then, open the Inbox section > Gatekeeper.
Alternatively, open Spark Desktop, click the Settings icon at the bottom left > Inbox > Gatekeeper. Or, after opening Spark:
- Select Settings.
- Switch to the Inbox section > Gatekeeper.
Open Spark Desktop and use the CTRL, shortcut (press and hold CTRL and press , ). Then, open the Inbox section > Gatekeeper.

- Tap the menu icon at the top left.
- Tap Settings .
- Select the Smart Inbox section > Smart 2.0 > New senders.
- Tap the menu icon at the top left.
- Open Settings.
- Select the Inbox section > Smart 2.0 > Gatekeeper.
Setting Gatekeeper
Once you accessed the Gatekeeper settings, you can choose where to accept or block senders:
- Screen new senders before inbox
- Screen new senders inside inbox
- Don't review (Accept all new senders)
Using Gatekeeper
Once the Gatekeeper is on, you will be asked whether to accept or block the sender every time somebody with a new email address emails you. The senders are not notified regardless of your choice. For them, it looks the same as if they have never received a reply from you.
Bulk accept or bulk block
Besides accepting or blocking senders separately, you can bulk accept or bulk block all the senders with just a few clicks. To do so:
- Open Inbox and click New Senders above the new sender cards or the … > Show All at the top right.
- At the top right, click the thumb-up to accept all the senders or a thumb-down to block them.

Unblock the sender
To unblock the sender, open the Blocked section of the sidebar, open an email from the sender you want to unblock, and click Accept sender.

Block domain
- Open the needed email.
- Press ⌘ + K to open Command Center.
- Type Block.
- Block All < domain name >, or press ⌘ + Option + Shift + B Shortcut.
- New emails from selected domain will be Blocked.
- Open the needed email.
- Press CTRL + K to open Command Center.
- Type Block.
- Block All < domain name >, or press CTRL + Alt + Shift + B Shortcut.
- New emails from selected domain will be Blocked.
- Open the needed email > Tap on the subject line.
- Tap on the sender's details.
- Scroll down and select Block domain.
- Open the needed email > Tap on the subject line.
- Tap on the sender's details.
- Scroll down and select Block Domain.
