Newton Mail, one of the many third-party email clients available today, was about to end its ambitious journey twice in recent years. The first shutdown of the app happened in 2018, but then CloudMagic (the company behind Newton Mail) was acquired by Essential, and Newton Mail app came back.
This winter the company announced that it's shutting down Newton Mail app on April 30th, 2020. Yet, Newton Mail lives on, acquired by Simform and SoFriendly.

Get Spark, and let's take a look at some notable features that will help you love email again:
1. Smart Inbox + Smart Notifications
One of the best features of Spark is its Smart Inbox feature. The Smart Inbox in Spark automatically categorizes and sorts all incoming email in your inbox. Your email is sorted as Personal, Notifications, Newsletters, and Pins, followed by all emails you’ve Read.
This automatic and intelligent sorting of emails allows you to focus on the important and direct emails first, while easily ignoring the other junk. Smart Inbox in Spark is designed to save you time, be more productive, and works across all your devices. Your emails stay in sync, so you don’t have to perform the same actions over and over again.
The goals of Smart Inbox are supplemented by the Smart Notifications feature in Spark. With this feature, Spark will only notify you about the important emails, while silently delivering emails that you care less about, such as marketing emails. Smart Notifications help you focus on actual work, while Spark works in the background to ensure that your email experience doesn’t come in the way of your productivity.
2. Send Later
Send Later is one of the most indispensable features of an email client and Spark has had native support for sending emails later for a long time now. The Send Later feature works in the background, so you don’t even have to keep Spark running all the time.
If you’re working late at night, just schedule an email to be sent in the morning and you can safely shut down your computer and go home. Spark will automatically send out the email to the recipient for you, and you can get some comfortable sleep in the meantime.
3. Follow Up Reminders
You know those times when you’ve emailed someone a few days ago, but they haven’t responded to your email, so you have to follow-up with them for a response. If sending out emails is a routine part of your job, it becomes difficult to keep track of all the emails you have to follow-up with. That is unless you are using Spark.
Spark has an excellent feature up its sleeve, wherein you can ask it to automatically remind you about an email at a date and time of your choosing. When you send out an email, pick a date and time in the future, and Spark will remind you about that email with a notification if it hasn’t received any replies from the recipient.
Pretty cool, right? What’s cooler, is that the Follow Up Reminders feature works across all your email accounts, and across your devices.
4. Snooze & Pin Emails
Of all the emails that land in your Inbox, chances are that only a few of them are priority emails or emails that need a reply immediately. There are many other types of emails, such as bill payment reminders, order confirmation emails, etc. that aren’t relevant until a few days later. Typically, these emails keep sitting in your inbox, cluttering up space for the rest of important emails.
With Spark, you get the ability to temporarily snooze these emails. With a simple swipe or click action, you can snooze any number of emails and choose the exact date and time when you want to see them back in your inbox. This is great to temporarily clear up your inbox, so you can focus on other important emails.
Similarly, you can pin important emails to the top of your inbox, that you want to pay attention to and not miss any updates. Pinning an email message in Spark is as easy as tapping on an icon. You can even pin multiple email messages to the top in Spark.
5. Customizable Swipes for Actions
Spark allows you to perform certain actions on every email that is displayed in a list. These are actions such as Archive, Delete, Mark as Read/Unread, Move, Move To, etc. Spark makes it easy to quickly perform these actions on emails displayed in a list by allowing you to swipe on the emails left or right.
There are four types of swipes you can perform — Short Left, Long Left, Short Right, and Long Right. Each of these swipes can be assigned to a specific action, such as short left swipe to mark an email as read and short right swipe to archive an email. These swipes are customizable, so you can pick exactly which action you want.
Swipes are a great to way clear up the clutter in your inbox and get more productive.
