How to block unwanted emails on Mac

Email is heavily relied on for both personal and professional lives. However, not all emails are useful or relevant, and many are unwanted newsletters or spam. This results in wasted time deleting or blocking emails, but Spark can help.

Note: By default, Spark accepts all senders except those you previously blocked. You can turn on the Gatekeeper in Spark Desktop Settings > Inbox > Gatekeeper.

How to block unwanted emails on a Mac:

Download and launch the Spark email app on your Mac. Spark is an email client with a multitude of additional features compared to traditional email applications on Mac.

Next, click on the 'Smart' tab just below the search bar in Spark.

Open Spark Desktop and use the ⌘, shortcut (press and hold ⌘ and press , ). Then, open the Inbox section > Gatekeeper

Alternatively, open Spark Desktop, click the Settings icon at the bottom left > Inbox > Gatekeeper.

How to block email notifications on a Mac:

Download and install Spark for Mac if you haven't already done so and configure your email accounts in the application.
Open Spark's preferences, and go to the 'Notifications' tab
Here you will find three options for notifications from your application.
Activate the radio button next to 'Smart' - this enables Smart Notifications for your email account.
Repeat these steps for each account you have set up in the Spark email application.
